About
Ryan Barry is an American jazz musician, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. After starting his musical journey at the age of 9, Ryan discovered his love of jazz and musical improvisation in his university big band orchestra. Since 2020, he has been studying under Mike Tucker, who is most widely known for teaching at the world renowned Berklee College of Music, and his work with legendary trumpeter Arturo Sandoval. In 2021, Ryan joined the most competitive jazz scene in the world, New York City. He started out playing in Central Park and the jam sessions at Smalls, and in years since has played at New York jazz staples like Fiction, and the world-famous Maison Cafe Kitsuné.
After releasing his debut single in 2020, Ryan gained the attention of G2 Recording and Publishing, and debuted under the label with his 2021 EP, Counterpoint. In May of 2022, he released a bossa nova single titled I Love How You Love Me, which was featured on Spotify’s official All New Jazz playlist. In 2025, Ryan returned to the studio after a three-year recording hiatus, which he spent focusing on his jazz studies and developing his sound. A Very Barry Christmas releases this holiday season.
